Pangea day at Mt. Sac
Last night my buddy George invited me to Pangea Day at Mt. Sac. It was a Music and Arts show which was put together by Mt. Sacs Humanities Club "Pursuit Of happiness". I was under the impression that it was just going to be bands performing when i was first told about this event but i was surprised to arrive and find a full Art showcase set up in the back area of the venue! After meeting up with my buddy who was one of the Sound Men for the night, i took off and did my own thing. I checked out all the art which had some really talented paintings, Drawings and all types of visual art. I met a cool dude named Josiah whos paintings really blew me away! He was also selling his CDs so I grabbed a few and got a print out of one of his awesome paintings, You can check out his circle right here. www.facebook.com/ChamberRecords

The musicians were pretty awesome and ranged from Rock bands to Hip-Hop artists, emcees and solo artists. You could just feel the energy(and heat haha) in the room from the stage to the audience as these guys poured their souls out. The first Artist i saw was a guy by the name of Matt who did some Incubus and a Pearl Jam covers. Although i never did catch his last name, I did catch that last minute of his cover of "Black" by Pearl Jam…this kid is pretty good check it out
These two guys put a twist on the "Ukulele weeps by Jake Shimabukuro" with their own added percussion haha i loved it!
One of my favorites throughout the night was a cool kat by the name "Satilite Rok Riley",whose his music kind of reminded me of a cross between Kid Cudi and The living legends. I could really see him one day becoming a big inspiration to a lot of lost souls with his deep lyrics and catchy tunes. You can peep him out right here www.reverbnation.com/satiliterok
My favorite were the poets! Man o man did we have some talented ones in the house, First off , the host of the show Sonia Waraich threw it down multiple times throughout the show and she is really good. There were also a few other girls who were just as talented putting it down. A man by the name of Gerald Bizness Vargas was one of my favorites and i caught his last poem of the night for you to see :D you can add him on Facebook here www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1840201868
My boy Judah1(David Marcus Oliver) really brought the energy with his intricate expressions of the soul through deep metaphors mixed with the simplicity of life, and spoken with great passion.David Is very much so involved in the Slam Poetry scene and has already had a published poetry book entitled "Instructions for Alchemy. Ingredients of Ether" available on amazon. amzn.com/B00481GOF2 David along with his circle"LionLike MindState" have just opened up an art gallery in Pomona and you can check all that out on their website right here lionlike.wordpress.com
Other then the music and poetry, there was a few booths set up outside. They had a radio station (I forget who), A DJ, People selling food and There was even a guy bustin that OG Graff Art with madd talent! There was even a spot for the guest to sit down and draw/color on construction paper.(I got stuck at this table for about half an hour, drawing this wreird pic haha dont even ask...)
All in all, I had a hell of a good time and im really glad i went! I met up with a lot of people i haven't seen in a long time which is really cool to see how small of a world this really is…But what really stood out to me is the new connections of like minded people who inspire others to think outside the box! I would highly recommend checking out all of these talented individuals by following their links (sorry but the link buttons wouldn't work so you gotta copy the links and paste in your address bar)and stay tuned for the next local event in your area! you don't know how fun it could be unless you get yourself out!
